Free Workshop: Interpreting and Responding to the Complex Needs of Persons with Dual Diagnosis
From the The Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities. Persons with IDD and mental health challenges often function in a complex web of caregivers, in a variety of stressful environments, with a diversity of support needs. Identifying and communicating these needs is often puzzling and sometimes overwhelming to our frequently limited resources. This presentation will emphasize tools to interpret behaviors and symptoms as well as methods to assist people in reaching their maximum capacity. Best practices in meeting the social, emotional, psychological, and developmental needs of individuals with IDD as well as mental health challenges will be addressed, including key components of successful program models.
