It can be difficult to locate programs to address specific needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Substance abuse treatment programs which are effective for people without cognitive disabilities may not be prepared to work with clients who have a developmental disability. The Crossings Program has been designed for this population and can address the particular needs of people who have developmental disabilities and struggle with addiction.
