Many people with IDD live in the community in New Jersey, either with family, with roommates or in other congregate living settings. It is important for service providers, families and people with disabilities to be aware of and understand how these laws affect them, including restraining orders as well as criminal charges that may be brought. Attorney Ehsan Chowdhry is an expert in the field, both as a former prosecutor and now as a private defense attorney, and he will provide a valuable overview of the domestic violence system, what to know about how the system works and what families, support provider agencies and people with disabilities should be prepared for.
